What is Pilates?
"Pilates is a form of exercise, developed by Joseph Pilates, which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement."
Lotus Pilates is owned and operated by Corinna Cosentino. Corinna was introduced to Pilates as a young dancer and received her certification in 1998 from Amy Halaby de Sa at Body Balance Studios in Chicago. Amy studied under Romana Kryzanowska, who studied directly with Joseph and Clara Pilates. Corinna taught at Body Balance for several years and then continued her studies at Frog Temple Pilates Studio in Chicago owned by Randi Whitman. It is here where she further developed her knowledge of the classical repertoire as taught at the renowned Boulder Pilates Center where Randi received her training.
