Lotus Pilates is owned and operated by Corinna Cosentino. Corinna was introduced to Pilates as a young dancer and received her certification in 1998 from Amy Halaby de Sa at Body Balance Studios in Chicago. Amy studied under Romana Kryzanowska, who studied directly with Joseph and Clara Pilates. Corinna taught at Body Balance for several years and then continued her studies at Frog Temple Pilates Studio in Chicago owned by Randi Whitman. It is here where she further developed her knowledge of the classical repertoire as taught at the renowned Boulder Pilates Center where Randi received her training.
Corinna has worked actively with professional dancers and athletes while also specializing in post-surgical rehab and acute spinal and joint conditions.
DJ has been teaching Pilates and Gyrotonic movement for 20 years in both California and New York. She began her movement training at the age of 7, as a competitive swimmer. She continued the sport throughout her college career, earning the title of a 4 Year All-American. In her final year of college, DJ found her passion in dance. To achieve a dancer’s physique, DJ turned to Pilates and Gyrotonic, which were critical techniques that enabled her to establish a strong foundation, and healed injuries. Being able to extend this knowledge of skills and insight to others through teaching is a true passion for her.
DJ was certified at Long Beach Dance Conditioning in California for Pilates under the watchful eye of Marie-Jose Blum, and Lisa Marie Goodwin was her Master Trainer with the Gyrotonic Expansive System. Pilates specialties include pre and post natal, injury prevention, advanced Pilates repertoire, hip and knee replacement, and Body Mechanics with Master Stretch Boots and “Elvis”. DJ has worked on Broadway as a performer and an associate choreographer of several shows. She recently moved to Bloomington to join the staff at Indiana University, teaching Musical Theatre Dance and Choreographing for their main stage Productions.
